Joey and Lucy’s engagement session at the Parthenon in Nashville was one of those days that proves love (and a little determination) can overcome just about anything. The forecast called for rain, but that didn’t stop us from making something beautiful.

The couple actually flew me in from Texas for their session, which made the whole experience even more special. Being trusted to capture such an important season of their lives is something I never take lightly, and traveling for their photos felt like the perfect start to documenting their story.

When we arrived at the Parthenon, the skies were gray and the ground was damp, but the rain brought a soft, romantic atmosphere you honestly can’t plan for. The marble columns, the mist in the air, and the quiet between rain showers created the most cinematic backdrop. Joey and Lucy leaned into the moment completely, laughing through the drizzle, holding each other close, and turning what could have been a challenge into something unforgettable.
